Typically, Sakura(cherry) blossoms in Shin’etsu reach their peak season between the middle of April and the beginning of May(Yes, it’s later than in Tokyo. You have a chance to see Sakura if you miss it in other area!) And, if you’re lucky, you might very well pedal your way into a local festival, celebrating the seasons and the local gods, or spirits, with traditional dances and music, food, drink and lots of fun. Find this sustainable life in the Japanese countryside.
